Ink Ledger is a magazine of newsroom commentary. We write about the press and the people who read it: the economics of local news, the shape of attention, the quiet craft of the long read, and the machines — presses, keyboards, notebooks — that still make journalism feel handmade.

We publish four issues a year, slowly and on purpose. Each issue is built around a single idea, argued across four sections: Opinion for the argument, Report for the evidence, Culture for the context, and Notebook for the field notes in between.

The magazine is edited on paper, set in ink on newsprint, and finished long after the news cycle has moved on. We think that is a feature, not a bug.
